Huset’s Speedway Website Review

The Huset’s Speedway website at http://www.husets-speedway.com/ is the subject of this ARA racetrack website review.  Husets, located in Brandon, South Dakota, is a 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval.  Terry McCarl holds the track record at 10.317 seconds, set on May 10, 2009.  The track holds USRA (United States Racing Association) weekly racing events and is perhaps best known for its World of Outlaws Sprint Car series races.  Events of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) and O’Reilly All-Star Circuit of Champions series are also presented.

At the time of the review on May 27, 2010, the website contained 1403 pages of content.  The photo-illustrated front page (headlined by photography of the racing classes presented) is user-friendly, with links to Weekly Results, Current Point Standings, 2010 Racing Schedule, 2010 Rules & Regulations, Racing on the Radio (the track has been presenting “Race Track Live” for twenty-one seasons on KXRB!), Hall of Fame (first driver inductee Marshall Gardner, most recent driver inductee Darryl Dawley), Past Results & Standings, Track Information, and Racer’s Links.  Twitter and Facebook links appear on the front page along with the latest track news and results.  Full contact information is provided, including telephone numbers and e-mail address.

The past results and standings section is excellent, with results and standings for the track dating back to 1998, presented in an easy-to-use format.  Past Track Champions and Feature Winners information, listed by racing class, is presented as compiled by noted racing historian Butch Knouse.

The Huset’s website is straightforward in design and performs each of its functions well!
